The self-contained PSC-54N pyrometer series 2-color (PSC-SR54N) and 1-color (PSC-G54N/PSC-S54N) IR sensor versions comes with a choice of two sighting methods, the PSC-54 series deliver high resolution fixed focus optics with small spot sizes, digital RS485 communication interface, analog 4 to 20mA output and fast speed of response. Optical and electronics parts are enclosed in a rugged stainless steel housing.
Offering a wide range of temperatures spanning from 250 to 3000°C, the PSC-54N series provides the user a choice of integrated red laser or video camera sighting. As with all PSC two-color models, the PSC-SR54N and PSC-SR54NV can also be used as single wavelength pyrometers. In the switchable single wavelength mode, operators have the choice of obtaining output signals from shorter or longer wavelengths, or both via analog and serial communication ports. The free PSCSpot software with optional USB cable for connection to RS485 output allows simple set up of IR thermometer parameters, facilitates multi-tasking and makes the recording of data in graphical, text or tabular format simple. The PSC-54’s color composite video output can be connected to any commercially available monitor or to a PC via an off-shelf frame grabber.
The PSC-S54N IR thermometer series are ideal for applications in induction heating, kilns, composites, sintering, steel and metals processing, vacuum furnaces and welding, as well as demanding research and development applications. The durable and compact companion stainless steel cooling jacket with integrated air purge stands up to even the harshest environments, and a number of innovative, ruggedly designed accessories are available.
The advantages and benefits of using a self-contained 2-color pyrometer:
- Automatic compensation for viewing through dirt windows, dust and partial smoke
- Compensates for changes in target emissivity
- Measures smaller target than sensor’s field of view (FOV)
- Unaffected by moving targets within FOV
